Eric J. W. Visser, J.D., CCIM, is a founding partner of Visser Shidlofsky LLP, and practices in the areas of Commercial Real Estate, Construction and Land Use and Development Law. Mr. Visser is immediate past Chair (2007-2008), and he was Vice-Chair (2006-2007) and Treasurer (2005-2006) of the Construction Law Section of the Austin Bar Association. Mr. Visser also is a member of the Real Estate Section, the Construction Law Section and the Business, Corporate and Tax Section of the Austin Bar Association, and is a Member of the College of the State Bar of Texas (2003-present), the Construction Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, and the American Bar Association. In 2009, he gained the Certified Commercial Investment Manager (CCIM) designation. Mr. Visser is currently President Elect (2010) and member of the Board of Directors of the Central Texas CCIM Chapter, and has previously served this organization as Treasurer (2009) and as Chair of Legislative Affairs from 2001 to 2004. Mr. Visser currently also serves as Vice-President of the Downtown Georgetown Association, a non-profit corporation that serves to promote revitalization of the downtown historic district in Georgetown, Texas. Mr. Visser is a past Editorial Advisory Committee Member and contributing author for the Flick Report, a regional commercial real estate publication, and has written several articles related to commercial real estate transactions. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Visser worked at a national commercial real estate brokerage and investment firm in Dallas, Texas, and was a licensed commercial property and casualty insurance broker in Los Angeles, California. Mr. Visser holds a double B.B.A. in Finance and International Business from the University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Tulsa. He is fluent in Dutch and proficient in German and French.
